Halley VI Research Station, located on the Brunt Ice Shelf, Antarctica, became its own little planet for the thirteen men who spent there the long and cold winter 2014 in support of Science.
This was the last weekend when the sun is still above the horizon. In the next few days we will have the final sunset before the winter fully sets in, and this will bring 106 or so days of darkness.
Halley VI Research Station, located on the Brunt Ice Shelf, Antarctica, along with its full wintering personnel. During the long winter 2014, Halley became our little planet, and all winterers became the population.
One of the best rooms in Halley VI is the TV Room upstairs. Not because it's a TV room, but because it's nice and comfortable, with really comfy chairs and a great selection of Antarctic and other books, and finally because of the sky-view window!
