It has been a month since the Midwinter Day, which is also the day when the Sun is at it's lowest position below the horizon. The glow of daylight is slowly but surely creeping back and even later in the evening (just around dinner time) it's possible to see a little bit of colour in the sky.
In the foreground of the image is the Igloo which the wintering team members built early in the winter. The colour of the igloo is due to the rising full moon, its light reflecting off the igloo walls.
