Sun Halo

22° Sun Halo, 46° Sun Halo, Sun dogs (Parhelions), Parhelic Circle, Circumzenithal Arc and Sun Pillars - today the nature served us all these phenomena. All the above are created by sunlight refracting in the ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. Rare as they are in the moderate latitudes, these do occur every now and then in Antarctica. The ice crystals responsible for the light refraction can either be suspended in the cirrus cloud, or can be driven by wind and blow relatively closely to the ground, as was the case today.
