Standard Issue FID

FIDs: a term used to refer to a person who is going to or working at one of the BAS stations or on a BAS ship in Antarctica. The comes from the past, when BAS was called Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey and its members were calling themselves "Fids".

Most people, when working at Halley, use the standard issue BAS kit, and everyone looks the same, wearing the same clothes and accessories, with small variations and some personal touches (like a ridiculous hat or a different colour neckie) - hence the title of this image.

Pictured is one of Halley Steelies, Connor, walking from the main modules (in the back) towards the temporary camp.
