One of the biggest events in a life of a Halley Winterer is the final departure of the RRS Ernest Shackleton, which marks the end of Summer and the start of Winter. With this event comes realisation that for the next nine months, Halley and its people will be one of the most remote and most isolated communities in the world. As per the tradition, some of us went to the coast to wave our friends and the ship good bye and wish them all a safe journey home. See you again at the other end of Winter!
