With the sky completely covered by a thick layer of cloud, everything around, including the main Halley modules, seem to be suspended in pure white nothing. The snow on the ground is completely indistinguishible from the sky above, and it may seem like one is inside of the ping-pong ball. Even if the visibility stays good, the contrast drops to zero making any features on the snow completely invisible.
