The research at Halley Station focuses on the physics and chemistry of the atmosphere, meteorology and space weather. One of the facilities dedicated to atmospheric chemistry is the so called CASLab (Clean Air Sector Laboratory), located about 1300 metres South of the Station, and which hosts a suite of instruments to measure hte chemistry of the clean air and the snow surface around Halley. To the right of the CASLab is a Boundary Layer Tower - a 30m high structure with a number of anemometers measuring wind speeds and direction at multiple levels above the ground.
