EMQA Caboose

Most of the experiments at Halley are actually hosted in what is called cabooses, each located 800-1000m away from the main modules. The EMQA acronym stands for Electromagnetic Quiet Area, and the EMQA caboose is filled with instruments listening to signal in the very low frequencies range. To help with that, several hundred meters further away from the modules is the VLF tower with an aerial on it, which the instruments are connected to. In the picture, Ross (Halley Electronics Engineer) is walking down the steps, leaving the caboose after finishing his work fixing one of the instruments.
