Yet Another Moon Halo

Late last night there was yet another moon halo outside. The temperature came up to -42°C, but with 18 knots of ENE wind gusting to 21 knots, it was really cold (windchill was below -61°C).

The moon halo in the image has been caused by ice crystals carried by the wind. In the foreground the towers of the Comms Array can be seen, with the HF aerials strung between them in the N-S and E-W orientations. Almost right in the centre of the frame, on the horizon and just behind the Comms Array is the Satellite Dome which hosts the satellite dish providing the Internet link to the station. And up in the top right corner of the image a part of the Milky Way can also be seen.
