Rime Frost

Over the last several days, the weather at Halley has been very cold and calm, with light winds, temperatures in the region of -40°C and some patches of fog. All surfaces became covered with thick layer of rime frost, a delicate and beautiful coating of ice crystals forming on objects as water droplets suspended in the air and carried by a breeze hit these objects and freeze.
