Day 6 of my second winter trip.
This is the final day of my trip. We got up early in the morning and folded up camp, and went exploring a few places around the Rumples - these were all parts of the ice shelf elevated up (as if crushed and driven over some obstacle underneath). As the ice shelf is moving at a rate of 1.3 meters per day, the ice there is under constant pressure and this manifests itself by many cracks and crevasses, as well as constant cracking noises (in some places we heard them every few seconds, and I could feel vibrations under my feet)!
In the afternoon we went back again to see the N9 flag line crevasse.
In the image Halley Electrician Rich is seen jumaring out of the crevasse.
