Negative Footprints

These footprints have been left by one of the Halley Team members a few weeks ago on the snow surface. The person's weight compressed the snow, which became harder than the snow around. During the heavy wind, less dense snow has been blown away, leaving the footprints exposed now in the form of sastrugi heads, with long wind tails on the lee side.
