When wintering at Halley, the world is shrinking to a tiny fraction of what it used to be in the Real World. In a way, we might as well be on a different planet, and if we were - it would have most likely looked just like the one in the picture. This is the essence of what it's like to be here - even though Antarctica is vast, in winter we only see our base and its immediate surroundings, and they make up our little world.
