Throughout the winter the Halley team members participated in a suite of experiments ran by European Space Agency. At the same time, similar experiments were conducted at another Antarctic Station, Concordia, as well as on a control group in Stuttgart in Germany. The experiments included sleep study, motor skills, and my favourite one, flying the Soyuz spacecraft in a range of scenarios covering docking to the International Space Station. All results from these experiments will be used for planning the manned missions to Mars!

Pictured is Halley Wintering Electrician Richard Inman executing the approach and docking to the ISS on a Soyuz spacecraft simulator.
